Find out where your business can save through an on-site energy assessment and receive incentives for making energy-efficient improvements.

Program Details

Dominion Energy Virginia’s Small Business Improvement Enhanced Program provides customers with an on-site energy assessment of your facility. Qualifying customers can receive incentives for making energy efficiency improvements identified during the assessment. Upgrade measures include:

  • Lighting systems such as LED lighting, exit signs and occupancy sensors
  • HVAC system tune-up for air conditioners, heat pumps and air-cooled chillers
  • Duct testing and sealing for air conditioners, heat pumps and chillers
  • HVAC system upgrades such as variable frequency drives, economizers, programmable thermostats, mini splits, and a variety of HVAC systems
  • Refrigerator Systems such as ECM fan motors, refrigerator doors, door gaskets, strip curtains, auto closers, anti-sweat door films and night covers for display cases
  • Solar reduction window film to lower energy usage and improve comfort

Participation is Easy

  • Find out if you qualify by completing an online form
  • Once your eligibility is confirmed, find a participating contractor from our list to get started
  • Your contractor will work with you to schedule your energy assessment and walk you through the incentive process. During and after your energy assessment, your contractor will:
    • Conduct a walk-through of your facility, which can take 30 minutes to 2 hours to complete, depending on your facility size and improvement needs
    • Make recommendations for certain direct install measures that can be installed immediately with minimal effort and investment
    • Submit the rebate application for work completed on-site, on your behalf

Participation Requirements

You must be a Dominion Energy Virginia non-residential customer who:

  • Has privately-owned businesses with 5 or fewer locations
  • Has not exceeded a monthly demand of 100 kilowatts 3 or more times in the past 12 months
  • Is responsible for the electric bill
  • Is the owner of the facility or reasonably able to secure permission to complete the measures

Please review additional requirements through the Program’s Terms and Conditions. By participating in this program, you are signifying your agreement to the Terms and Conditions of the Small Business Improvement Enhanced Program.

Rebate Details

Please allow up to 90 days from the date all required information is received to process your rebate. Payment will be issued to the participating contractor unless the customer has elected to receive the rebate. Rebates payable to customers are sent to the mailing address on record with Dominion Energy.

It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that all requirements for the rebate are met. Failure to provide any of the required information will delay processing of your application and could result in non-payment.
