Program Details
Working with a building controls contractor to add or upgrade your building energy management system can help you achieve energy and cost savings, and make managing your building easier. Plus, you can receive a rebate from Dominion Energy.
For building controls contractors and consultants: learn how you can help customers earn rebates by engaging with the Building Automation program before your start a new project.
Benefits of Participation
The energy efficiency improvements offer many benefits including:
- Upgraded equipment reduces energy use and helps you save on your energy expenses.
- More efficient use of your equipment systems, reducing system waste.
- Financial incentives that help to offset the cost for installing the recommended improvements.
How to Participate
- Search and contact a local, participating contractor.
- Have your contractor complete the initial assessment to reserve rebate funding with our program representative.
- Install qualifying building controls measures. See all measures in the program overview.
- Have your contractor submit the rebate packet on your behalf.
- In 12-months, your building energy performance will be re-evaluated during the final savings verification, and you could be eligible for bonus savings.
Customer Eligibility
Participation Requirements
You must be a Dominion Energy Virginia non-residential customer who:
- Is on a non-residential rate schedule.
- Is not exempt by statute or not under special contract.
- Is responsible for the electric bill.
- Is the owner of the facility or is reasonably able to secure permission to complete installation of measures.

Find a Contractor
This program is currently building and training its contractor network. Once it is established, you will be able to use this location to find participating contractors in your area.
If you have an existing controls contactor that you would like to work with, contact us and we will reach out to them to explain the advantages of joining our contractor network.
